Visit to the Smiths and The National Zoo

Yesterday Maddox and I took a mini road trip up to Maryland to visit my friend Ashley, her husband Remi, and their girls Hannah and Tessa. Hannah is Maddox's age so they have a lot of fun together. We played last night and hung out and relaxed then this morning headed to the zoo in D.C. for the day. We had a wonderful time.. like always with the Smiths =). We would love to see them more often but enjoy the times we do get to visit!!

Relaxing, watching a movie, and having some popcorn after we got home. We had such a fun 2 days. I know he is going to sleep good tonight... and so is Mommy =)

Tigers!!

While we were at the beach we decided to take advantage of this really cool opportunity. They have a place where they have baby tigers and monkeys that you can hold and get your picture taken with them. We thought this would be a great family picture as well as a very neat thing to do! We got to hold and pet an 8 week old tiger that was just precious!! Then we got to hold this one and feed him. It was a lot of fun!!

Myrtle Beach 2011

Last week Jim, Maddox, and I went to Myrtle Beach for our family vacation. Heather, Jay, and the kids were supposed to go but Jay wasn't able to get time off from work =(. Hopefully next year. We had a good time despite the fact that Maddox was sick and did not feel well a good portion of the time. He started with pink eye when we left, then got a cough, runny nose, and we found out when we go back that he had an ear infection... all things considered we made the most of it and Maddox had a great time with all the stuff we did.

After dinner we went to the aquarium

Shark!!! They had this awesome shark exhibit going on at the aquarium. We got to walk through this tunnel thing so the fish and sharks were all around you... it was sooo cool!! I thought Maddox would have been a little scared but he actually did great!

After the aquarium we went to ride some of the carnival type rides they had there at Broadway at the Beach. This turned out to be Maddox's very favorite activity!

Motorcycles!! If I had a dollar for every time we heard that word again after this first time he rode it (this was just he 2nd night we were there)... we would be rich!! He loved loved loved this thing and that's all he talked about!
